Tasmanian
Landcare Fund
The Fund supports activities that provide long term benefit to the community and environment of Tasmania by improving the management of Tasmania’s water quality, soil, flora and fauna by private landholders and community groups through education and awareness raising.
Background
The Tasmanian Landcare Fund was launched on October 4th 2004. The Fund was established to allow individuals and organisations to contribute financially to landcare activities.
The TLCA is now on the Register of Environmental Organisations with the Australian Government Department of Environment and Heritage, a Commonwealth tax deductibility scheme for environmental organisations in order to improve the returns to donators and benefactors to the Tasmanian Landcare Fund.
A sub-committee of the Tasmanian Landcare Association Inc (TLCA) called the Tasmanian Landcare Fund (TLF) Committee is responsible for the coordination and devolving of money in the fund to landcare groups and landcare supporters.
The guidelines of the devolving of grant monies are reviewed annually by the full committee of the TLCA.
If you wish to donate funds to the TLF please click on Donations at left or contact our Executive Officer, Jodie Epper on (03) 6234 7117.
History
The impetus for establishing the Tasmanian Landcare Fund came from an approach by the John Roberts Charitable Trust to contribute its proceeds to Landcare.
The John Roberts Charitable Trust (JRT) has been set up to support and encourage Landcare activities. The Tasmanian Landcare Fund will receive monies from this trust that is to be devolved out for landcare activities.
