TLCA to deliver statewide devolved grants program to groups and landholders
We will be delivering a statewide devolved grants program to support community landcare over the next two years. Our action planning, Extra Hands and Key Partner Farms programs will also have some funding support over the next two years. This is a great boost to community landcare in this state.
In the coming weeks, we will advise ‘care’ groups and the wider community landcare networks of the schedule for funding rounds, funding scope and program delivery. Watch this space!
National Landcare Network - a truly national voice for landcare
An exciting development is underway for community-based landcare. For the first time, there is the prospect of a truly national voice for the volunteer landcare movement. In April, peak landcare bodies such as TLCA and our counterparts from other states and territories met to discuss forming a national network as a means to share skills, information and also to provide a strong national voice for landcare from the ground at the national level. On that basis, an interim network has formed, and now we want to hear from you what you think. See here for more details about the Network. It would be great if you could call the office (6234 7117 or email executive.officer@taslandcare.org.au) to give us your feedback. Look forward to hearing from you!
2009 LAP Grants!
Once again TLCA will be issuing landcare assistance grants of $250 and $400 based on need to qualifying 'care' groups on behalf of the State Government. Ensure your membership and contact information is current and any previous grant monies have been acquitted to be eligible. Watch your mailbox and visit this website next week for information and the application form. The LAP application, acquittal and updated membership forms will all be available on the website soon.Remember, as always these grants are issued on a first-in first-served basis and are usually fully subscribed by the end of April!
