Who can volunteer? Everyone - Individuals, households, families, community groups and school groups.
What happens when I sign up to extra hands? You will be invited via email to volunteer events that you have indicated you are interested in. For example; tree planting, water monitoring, habitat restoration. When will I be expected to volunteer? You will only be invited to events that match the times that you indicated you were available. How much time will it take? extra hands is a no obligation casual volunteering experience. It will take only as much time as YOU decide. If you are invited along to an event and can't make it, no problem, perhaps you can make it next time. How much money does it cost? All volunteers - individuals, households, families, groups pay a $20 per year flat fee. Hosts - landholders and landcare groups join for a $100 per year flat fee. Why does it cost money? How do I register with extra hands? Simply download the on-line subscription form in the volunteer section of this site. Can businesses volunteer? Yes - through the corporate section of this website. Businesses can volunteer in three ways. 1. Staff choose to join extra hands and the businesses pay the volunteer subscriptions. 2. The business joins extra hands as a business team and pays subscription of either $1000 (less than 50 employees) or $2500 (greater than 50 employees). The business can attends extra hands events as above AND will also have the opportunity of an exclusive team community event. 3. The business calls the extra hands office for a quote to have a customized event organised for them. Who funds extra hands? TLCA have formed a vital partnership with NRM North to deliver this program. The scoping and development of this program was made possible through funds from the Australian Government through Natural Heritage Trust and through the State Government's Living Environment Program.
