Tasmanian Landcaring Grants

'from the Bush to the Beach'

Round 2 Opens 16 August

The Tasmanian Landcare Association, in partnership with Wildcare Inc is opening Round 2 on the 16th of August 2010.  The Tasmanian Landcaring Grants is a program rolling out statewide during 2010-12.  [Application form and guideline here].  It features grants (up to $20,000) that are available for Care Groups (Landcare, Bushcare, Coastcare, “Friends of Groups”, etc) and Individual Property owners for projects that target the following Caring for Our Country priorities:

  • Participation in natural resource management
  • Increasing native habitat targeting:
    • weeds of national significance; and
    • Internationally significant wetlands
  • Increasing coastal community engagement
  • Improving knowledge and skills of land managers

With the support of both a steering and technical assessment committee, the TLCA is delivering a new approach to small to medium scale grants funding.   We are working closely with applicants to ensure they present their projects in the best light and supporting successful applicants through the course of their projects.  This approach was well received during Round 1 and well oversubscribed, but we are making sure everyone is given the best support possible to seek funding through our grant rounds as well as highlighting other potential opportunities.

The project is supported by a Technical Assessment Committee that ensures the assessment process is sound and based on best available information.  The Tasmanian Landcare Association is keen to hear from groups and property owners that are considering putting an application together so we can provide support where possible.
